Code of Conduct

Principle

The Sustainability Club (hereinafter “SC”) is committed to responsible, respectful, and constructive interaction among its members. This Code of Conduct defines the basic rules of conduct for all members and serves as the foundation for collaboration and decision-making processes within the club.

Understanding Values

  1. The club views sustainability as the interplay of environmental responsibility, social justice, and economic viability.
  2. The club’s activities are guided by solution-oriented, practical, and forward-looking approaches.

Equal Treatment and Respectful Interaction

  1. All members are required to treat one another with respect, appreciation, and openness.
  2. Discrimination, harassment, or exclusion based on, in particular, origin, gender, sexual orientation, religion, worldview, age, or disability is prohibited.
  3. Differing opinions must be respected and addressed constructively.

Responsibility and Reliability

  1. Members take responsibility for the tasks they undertake and actively contribute to the success of projects.
  2. Agreed-upon contributions must be made on time or canceled in a timely manner.
  3. Collaboration is cooperative and supportive.

Sustainable Practices

  1. The club and its members are committed to incorporating sustainable principles into all their activities, in keeping with the principle of “leading by example.”
  2. Events and projects must be organized in a way that conserves resources.
  3. The goal is the continuous improvement of sustainable practices.

Communication and Dialogue

  1. Communication within the club is open, objective, and respectful.
  2. Criticism should be expressed and accepted constructively.
  3. Decisions should, as far as possible, be made in a transparent and understandable manner.

Integrity and Transparency

  1. Members shall act honestly and in the best interests of the club.
  2. Potential conflicts of interest must be disclosed.
  3. Decisions and relevant information must be properly documented and made available.

Commitment and Participation

  1. Members are expected to be actively involved.
  2. Members are encouraged to contribute ideas and take on responsibilities.
  3. Prolonged, unjustified inactivity may result in consequences in accordance with the charter.

Violations

  1. Violations of this Code of Conduct must be reported to the Board of Directors or a designated responsible party.

  2. The Board of Directors will review reported violations while upholding the principles of proportionality and the right of the affected person to be heard.

  3. Possible measures include, in particular:
    • Warning
    • Exclusion from projects
    • Temporary exclusion from the club
    • Permanent expulsion from the club in accordance with the charter

Scope of Application and Effective Date

1. This Code of Conduct applies to all club members as well as to individuals participating in club activities.
2. The Code of Conduct takes effect upon adoption by the general meeting and is an integral part of the charter.

Final Provision

If any provision of this Code of Conduct is or becomes invalid, the validity of the remaining provisions shall remain unaffected.
