Support
Everyone needs support sometimes. We offer our students a wide variety of financial support options. On the one hand, team events organized by year cohorts or degree programs are funded through regular projects. On the other hand, larger events and initiatives are also supported through special projects. For students facing financial hardship, there is also the Social Fund, which covers a wide range of needs, from child care to psychotherapy. Finally, there is the mobility grant, which helps students over the age of 26 in Tyrol pay for their public transportation passes.
Project Support
To fund the wide range of services, projects, and events organized by the Student Body at MCI, we have a budget that is funded by your ÖH dues and distributed annually by the ÖH Federal Representation to all universities in Austria.
We want to encourage your initiative and will therefore support you in all your endeavors that benefit your group, your class, your degree program, or even all MCI students. On the one hand, we offer planning assistance and the infrastructure you need to carry out your projects. On the other hand, you can also receive financial support from us.

How do I submit a project proposal?
- Download the form
- Fill out the form, obtain approval (by signature) from the respective STV chairperson (preliminary review), and then send it to info@oeh-mci.at
- Awaiting the Economic Affairs Department’s decision on the application (final review)—whether it is approved or rejected
- Carry out the project

What do I need to submit?
- Project Proposal
- All original receipts (unmarked and WITHOUT tips) + refund form
- Photos for documentation purposes as separate files in a standard file format (jpg or png)
- If no photos are available, a project report in German or English
What deadlines do I need to keep in mind?
- The application deadline is four weeks, or June 30, for projects taking place from early July through late October
- Timely processing is not guaranteed in the event of noncompliance
- Until the approval is announced, the financial risk lies with the applicant.
- Reimbursement and documentation materials must be submitted no later than six weeks after the project is completed
- Please note: No payment will be made until all required documents have been submitted.
- No advance payments will be made. TIP: Submit your documents within about two weeks after the event.
- Failure to submit all required documents will result in the Student Body withholding payment of the project costs.
How does the billing process for project proposals work?
- Comply with billing criteria
- No drinks containing brandy on the bill (this includes Aperol)
- Invoices must not include any personal items or tips
- We will only reimburse expenses for which we have a receipt.
- We do not refund deposits
- For direct payments to companies, the invoice must include a UID number
(VAT number). - If possible, please submit consolidated documents (rather than 25 separate invoices
for individual items) - The criteria of economy, accuracy, verifiability, and appropriateness
must be met
- Please bring the original receipts, along with the corresponding reimbursement form and the list of participants, to the öh mci office during business hours.
- Please provide your name and address, year of study, and degree program (which project)
- Enter your account information
- Please include all invoices in their entirety
- Fill out the refund form or invoice form
- Have you submitted everything completely and didn’t forget any signatures? Then you’ll get your money! It’s possible that additional signatures from other departments may be required after submission and before payment is processed. This could delay your payment.
What is the maximum refund amount?
The maximum refund amount must be based on the amount to be funded as specified in the approved project proposal. Invoices or claims submitted by companies to the Student Body at the MCI Management Center Innsbruck take priority over invoices from private individuals. Upon submission of all documents pertaining to the completed project, the applicant must inform the financial officer of the final costs incurred during the project’s implementation.
Special Projects
The öh mci funding pool for special projects is intended to support projects by MCI students that cannot be funded from other sources. These projects must address topics relevant to students or be primarily led by students.
Special projects are defined as projects that target one of the following groups:
- At least one or more departments of the MCI;
- all MCI students;
- the entire student body in Innsbruck, Tyrol, or Austria.
It is not possible to provide funding for projects and activities that have already been carried out as of the date the application is submitted (as indicated by the receipt stamp). At that time, the project to be funded must still be in the planning phase.
Special project funding may only be requested for the entire project and is granted only for specific project areas. The funded project areas must have clearly identifiable, billable expenses.
The Student Body at the MCI Management Center Innsbruck must be listed as a sponsor on all publications related to funding for a special project (brochures, event announcements, etc.). This can be done by adding the phrase “project funded by the öh mci” and including the Student Union logo.

- There is no legal entitlement to financial assistance from the ÖH—such assistance is provided only until the funds contributed by your local ÖH chapter have been exhausted.
Requirements for applying:
- You must be an ÖH member (i.e., you must have paid your ÖH dues)
- You have to be a good listener
- Social need as defined in the attached guidelines
- Satisfactory academic performance as defined in the attached guidelines
- No other adequate financial assistance (e.g., student aid)

Funding Pool for Psychological Treatments
Our grant fund supports MCI students with psychological treatment to facilitate access to mental health care. The goal is to provide financial assistance to students who do not receive free therapy and whose insurance coverage is insufficient. To be eligible for funding, students must contact the ÖH’s Social Services Office (sozialreferat@oeh-mci.at) before beginning treatment.
Social Assistance Fund
Our social assistance fund provides financial support to students in special circumstances. Our goal is to ensure that no student is left behind and to help them overcome challenges that might stand in the way of their academic success or a healthy work-life balance. We offer individualized financial assistance for a variety of needs to ensure that all students receive the support they need.
Performance Fund
Our Performance Fund supports extracurricular activities that help accelerate applicants’ academic or professional careers. We place particular emphasis on supporting publication efforts as well as active and passive participation in forums, seminars, and workshops. Our funding enables students to develop beyond the scope of the curriculum and gain valuable experience for their future careers.
Research Funding
Our research grant fund provides financial support to students for their research projects. Whether it’s academic papers for courses or final projects, we help cover the costs.
Emergency Fund
Our crisis fund offers immediate assistance to students facing urgent emergencies. Our goal is to provide financial support to help students in crisis situations that could jeopardize their studies or personal well-being. The fund enables students to overcome unforeseen financial challenges and continue their education without compromising their academic performance or well-being.

Promotion of Mobility
Since public transportation tickets in Tyrol—and especially in Innsbruck—are significantly more expensive for students over 26 than for students under 27, we’re offering you a 10% subsidy toward your public transportation ticket.

You can bring the original invoice, your registration confirmation, and the receipt for the paid ticket during office hours, mail them to us, or drop them directly into our mailbox (Kaiserjägerstraße 1, passageway from SOWI to Kaiserjägerstraße).
